About Aidan

Aidan Ward-Richter is a drummer, pianist, composer and arranger from Seattle, Washington that specializes in music of the Black American Tradition. Combining the compositional approaches of Pat Metheny and George Cables with the blues infused sensibilities of Ray Brown and Julian Lage, they seek to refresh traditional influences into a modern world.

 

Aidan has had an interest in music from a young age, first playing drums when they were five years old and eventually taking an interest in composing and playing piano while they were in high school. During their time at Berklee, Aidan worked with such greats as Kenny Barron, Benny Green, Neal Smith, Ayn Inserto, Billy Kilson, Kris Davis, Francisco Mela, Kevin Harris, and others.
